DR. EBONY BOULWARE

Organization and titles: Dean, Wake Forest University School of Medicine; Chief Science Officer, Advocate Health

What makes her a Power Player: Boulware took over the Wake Forest University School of Medicine at an exciting time for the Triad’s only medical school. Her first day on the job coincided with the groundbreaking of WFUSOM’s new 700,000 SF campus in Charlotte. The school expects to seat its first full class next fall with 75 medical students in Charlotte. Boulware will also oversee the medical school as it grows as the academic core of Advocate Health, the result of the 2022 merger between Atrium Health and Advocate Aurora. A general internist and clinical epidemiologist, Boulware also serves as the chief science officer for Advocate and will help support clinical trials across the system.
