IN FORSYTH COUNTY IS NOW TALENTED ARTISTS IN OUR AREA AT VARIOUS EVENTS THIS MONTH. AND, YOU KNOW, WE HAD TO GET YOU ALL THOSE DETAILS, OF COURSE. LET’S SAY GOOD MORNING TO OUR GUEST. IT’S KATIE HALL. SHE IS A PART OF THE ARTS COUNCIL HAS DETAILS ON THE FUN IN STORE THIS MONTH. GOOD MORNING, KATIE. GOOD MORNING. THANK YOU SO MUCH HAVING US ON THIS ONE. YEAH. THANKS FOR SPENDING SOME WITH US. SO FIRST, TELL US ABOUT THE ARTS HOUSE PARTY AND RECEPTION. ABSOLUTELY. SO WE ARE SO EXCITED TO PARTNER WITH LAKE THE ARTS OF WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY AND GUILTY BY ASSOCIATION FOR GIVING ONE OF OUR CITY ON SUNDAY. THIS SUNDAY FROM 3 TO 6 AT MILTON RED CENTER HERB GBA WILL SHOWCASE A NEW PROGRAM DUBBED ART CITY HOUSE PARTY WHICH WILL INITIATE BY SPOTLIGHT FIVE BIPOC CREATORS WHO ALL HAIL FROM WINSTON-SALEM. THESE ARTISTS INCLUDE CRYSTAL HART, ASHLEY JOHNSON SHEPHERD, MIRIAM DISEASES AND ANTOINE. AND THIS IS A FREE PROGRAM OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY. IT IS FLOATING RECEPTION AND WE HOPE THAT PEOPLE JUST COME AND ENJOY THIS NEW PUSH THAT GBA HAS REALLY WORKED HARD ON ON EMPOWERING, UNDEREMPLOYED COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE CREATED INDUSTRY. ABSOLUTELY AND KATIE, I KNOW YOU ALSO HAVE ANOTHER THAT’S COMING UP. CAN YOU SORT OF SHARE MORE ABOUT THAT SECOND EVENT? ABSOLUTELY ALSO THIS WEEKEND, WORK ON OUR BLACK REPERTORY COMPANY OPENS NATIVITY ACCORDING TO THE GOSPEL. THIS WILL TAKE PLACE IN FRANCE WHERE I’M SITTING NOW, AN ELECTRIFYING RENDITION OF THE CHRISTMAS STORY TOLD WITH AN INFUSION OF GOSPEL MUSIC, DANCE AND SPOKEN WORD ON THURSDAY DECEMBER 15TH, WE’LL HAVE A SPECIAL PROGRAM WITH ART NOUVEAU, WHICH AT FOCUSING ON BRINGING IN YOUNGER PRFESSIONALS TO GET INVOLVED IN THE ART. AND IN THAT EVENT, WILL BE PARTNERING WITH THE ART SHACK TO COLLECT SUPPLIES, ART SUPPLIES FOR THEM AND RUN FOR AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LEVEL. YOU CAN FIND MORE ONLINE AND SEE BLACK REPORT. YOU KNOW, THERE IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT GOING ON EVERY SINGLE NIGHT LAST NIGHT I ATTENDED THE POP HOLIDAY CONCERT WITH THAT ONE SYMPHONY THIS WEEKEND I WAS OUT AND ABOUT WITH FLAG MUSIC DOWNTOWN. WE’VE GOT OPERA, WE HAVE SYMPHONY. WE HAVE SPOKEN. MONDAY NIGHT, WE HAD THE LAB. THERE WAS AN UNDERGROUND AND IMMERSIVE ART EXPERIENCE FOR YOUNG ARTISTS IN THE COMMUNITY COME TOGETHER AND MAKE AND CREATE, AND THERE IS LITERALLY SOMETHING DO FOR EVERYONE IN THE COMMUNITY. KATIE HAVE YOU HAD A FAVORITE COME AROUND AT THIS TIME OF YEAR THAT REALLY GETS MAYBE EVEN MORE INTO THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT? WELL, IT’S KIND OF LIKE HAVING CHILDREN AND WORKING IN THE ARTS TEMPLE BUT MY FAVORITE MY FAVORITE SHOW, THE TIVITY, ACCORDING TO GOSPELS AND JUST REALLY CONNECTS ME TO MY COLLEGE DAYS WHEN I SANG UNDER DOCTOR’S PROGRAM AND OUR CHOIRS SPOKEN THROUGH THE VOICE OF SPIRITUAL ENSEMBLES WAS THAT OF A SPIRITUAL. Guilty by Association (GBA) is a new digital platform that aims to empower underrepresented communities across the creative industry. Co-founded by Karen Wong, former director of the New Museum in Manhattan, along with Derek Wiggins, who has produced a number of collaborations for Nike, adidas, and Supreme, the two look to shift the paradigm within the art world by highlighting overlooked talent, redistributing wealth and transforming what is seen by many as an antiquated system.On December 11, GBA will showcase a new program dubbed ArtCities, which will initiate by spotlighting five BIPOC creators who all hail from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The series provides a signal boost for local musicians, connecting them with new audiences and professional opportunities. Amplify is curated by guest artist Spencer Aubrey (also known as p.s. edekot).
