According to a release, this tour is a continuation of her work to energize and engage with young voters. The vice president has already visited 11 college campuses this year.
Harris participated in a moderated conversation with EPA administrator Michael Regan and actor Terrence J. Both are alumni of NC A&T.
She discussed several issues including abortion rights, gun safety, climate change, voting rights, student loan forgiveness, and book bans.
Vice President Harris encouraged students in the room that if these are things they're concerned about, they need to make their voices known at the ballot box.
At the end of the discussion, she said to students, "You were born to lead. That's why you're all here right now. And so just get out there. Own your power. Tell your truth right now, because Your country needs you. And I say that as vice president of the United States."

WXII 12 spoke with a Wake Forest University political science professor who said NC A&T State University was chosen for a reason.
"We're visiting states like Virginia and North Carolina that are potentially swing states," said Dr. John Dinan. "They're also the particular choice of attending HBCU's to give the vice president a chance to offer her message to the audiences of those colleges."
According to Dinan, the Democratic presidential ticket needs a strong voter turnout, especially with younger audiences.
"It's important for the Democratic National Party to invest in North Carolina, not just with an eye toward mobilizing voters for the presidential tickets," Dinan said. "There's also a critical gubernatorial race and other races going on."
On this tour, Harris plans to visit around a dozen campuses across the country including universities in Wisconsin, Arizona and Nevada.
