WELL, HUNDREDS OF WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF WILL RUN FOR CANCER RESEARCH THURSDAY AT THE BRICS IS A DAY LONG FUND RAISER IN MEMORY OF WAKE FOREST FOOTBALL LEGEND BRIAN PICCOLO. HE DIED AT AGE 26 AFTER BEING DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER. PARTICIPANTS WILL RACE AROUND THE BRICK PATHWAYS ON HEARN PLAZA, COMPETING TO SEE WHICH TEAMS CAN RUN THE MOST LAPS AND RAISE THE MOST MONEY MONEY. IT’S INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT. CANCER IS SUCH THE LIVES OF ESSENTIALLY EVERY STUDENT AND FACULTY MEMBER AND THIS EVENT REALLY BRINGS TOGETHER THE COMMUNITY. WE’VE RAISED OVER $1 MILLION SINCE THE START OF HIT THE BRICKS FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE CANCER CENTER. SO I DO THINK THAT PARTICIPATION AND FUNDRAISING FOR THIS EVENT CAN REALLY MOVE NEEDLE IN TERMS OF CANCER RESEARCH. THE RELAY BEGINS AT 11 A.M. MORE
